Our wines

Climate and land

In the Kamptal region we find a special interaction between the climate and the soil, which forms the basis for our wine's character. The Kamptal is very diverse, with steep terraces and vast plains containing a range of soil types, including clay and stoney soil and also loess sediment.

Grape harvesting

The days here are hot, the nights are cool, and the sunny autumn days complete the interaction between climate and land. These highly contrasting conditions give our wines an incomparable crystal clear and mineral character, and offer the best conditions for our principal wine: Grüner Veltliner.

Our vineyards

Our vineyards lay mainly to the south and east of Mittelberg, with the rest of our vines growing in nearby Langenlois. The vineyards are close to each other and yet each has its own distinctive microclimate and soil. We can therefore select the best conditions for each grape variety to grow in. Our vineyards are individually named; the best are 'Loiserberg' and 'Auf der Setz'.
